Hot Pink Panic
Free writing
Free writing is 10 minutes to let your writing ideas run wild—no rules, no pressure, just pure creativity. I write whatever fictional scenes are on my mind, a dream I had last night, or I continue a story that is fresh in my mind. Sometimes it’s a complete thought, sometimes it’s a jumble of ideas, but it always helps me explore new directions and spark inspiration for future stories.

Sunlight slipped through the blinds, striping the living room floor. With the house finally quiet, no siblings, no chores. So, Taylor decided to enjoy her rare alone time.
She lit a vanilla candle, the warm scent mixing with the sharp smell of nail polish. Her laptop played soft pop music as she settled onto the couch, stomach growling.
She snapped open her flip phone with a practiced flick and dialed for pizza.
Taylor balanced her flip phone between her shoulder and ear, ordering a pizza while carefully painting her toenails hot pink. “Thirty minutes?” she asked. “Perfect.” She hung up, humming to the music playing from her laptop.
Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang. She frowned, too soon. Still, she walked to the door, polish brush in hand.
Through the peephole, she saw someone wearing a pizza uniform. When she opened the door, the uniform was empty, hanging neatly on her porch.
From behind her, a man’s voice whispered, “Extra cheese, right?”
